Applying eye shadow has plagued many a person but with a little care, the end result is worth the effort. Never apply eyeliner or use mascara before applying eye shadow or the concealer for the total effect is ruined. A wonderful eye shadow tip for women who want to make their eyes appear closer is to emphasize the inner corners of the eyes.

Eye shadow is perhaps the most beloved cosmetic of creative makeup artists. Some women prefer to apply eye shadow with a damp brush or applicator. This helps in intensifying the color. Powder eye shadows come in singles or color coordinated sets. Cream eye shadows can be coordinated with powder eye shadows. Eye shadow adds depth and dimension to one’s eyes, compliments the eye color, or simply draw attention to the eyes. Tips for applying eye shadow

1. Apply the medium shade on the upper eyelid only. Use a lighter shade under the browbone to highlight the eyes.

3. Pearly shades are great for highlighting the brow bone and opening up the eye area.

4. You should use brushes to apply eye shadow. And try to avoid those nasty foam applicators that come with it.

5. Apply a lighter eye shadow color above your primary color and below your eyebrow.

Types of Eye Shadows

Dark – This is applied only to the eyelids from the lashline to the crease in the eyelid.

Medium – This is applied from just below the eyelid crease to the browbone. You can, and some techniques do, shade the entire lid with this medium shade first.

Highlight – This is the lightest of the three and is applied to the browbone and extends a little past the outer end of the eyebrow. This usually gives a pearly finish.

How to Apply Concealer

Whether you are fair or dark, your concealer should also have yellow tones.Don’t use a concealer that’s white or more than half a shade lighter than your skin tone. Try for an exact match. Apply before foundation. Set the concealer with powder.

Sometimes after the use of concealer, foundation may be avoided.

USE OF UNDER-EYE CONCEALERS

Concealers are applied to cover dark circles around the eyes, thereby grweatly enhancing the appearance of the face.They are matched to the skin tone and are applied before using the harmony foundation.When any product is applied around the eyes, special care must be taken so that the skin is not stretched.

Instead of applying the cream from the inside corner of the eye to the outside it should be dabbed on the skin and then gently blended with the finger tips moving from the outside corner to the inside corner.This procedure will not pull the skin.After the product has dried, more can be applied to build up the desired opacity.To remove, use a cosmetic cleanser, instead of vigorously rubbing the skin with soap and water.

1. Apply small dots of concealer at a time.

2. Touch the concealer directly onto the blemish and blend well at the edges. Don’t apply more than two coats of concealer at a time, or it will look obvious that you’re trying to hide a blazing zit. Foundation should further hide the blemish

1. In applying concealers, using the right makeup techniques is important. Concealers are of a denser composition than regular foundations and are generally available in sticks, tubes, pots, and creams. Concealers can be used to cover blemishes, dark spots, ruddy areas, marks, veins, freckles or under eye circles.

2. Your concealer should be one shade lighter than your foundation (and only in extreme cases should you use a concealer two shades lighter).

3. Using a concealer that is too light or too pink will give the appearance of `owl eyes’. In other words, it will emphasize the dark area instead of concealing it.

4. Apply concealer with a small fine tipped brush for an accurate application. As with any other application, blending is the key.

5. Always set your concealer with a sheer, translucent powder to prevent creasing.

Be sure to cover the inside of the nose bridge and the outer corner of your eye where we tend to get dark areas.

How to Remove Makeup

Makeup removers are very necessary for cleaning the skin from makeup. There are large numbers of women with normal skin, used cleanser before going to bed at night for removing makeup from the surface of the skin. Removing the makeup in the evening is a must in order to let your skin breathe and regenerate during the whole night. There are two types of makeup – oily and non oily. Non oily makeup is such things as eye shadow, blushes, and powdered makeup. Oily types are lipsticks, rouge, mascara, and liquid makeup. Each type requires a specific method of removal. It is recommended that an area of clothing, such as a seam allowance, be tested before removal attempts to insure that the fabric is not going to be damaged. If the stains get on carpeting, test your cleaning method on an area of rug .

Removing eye makeup can be one of the more tricky areas of the face, as the skin around your eyes is the most sensitive. The most basic cleanser is soap, and this is an option, but it can be drying to the skin and harsh on the eyes. The best method to remove makeup is that takes a few drops of cosmetic makeup removers on a cotton ball and gently use for removing makeup from the face. Household ammonia is another good resource for removing lipstick. First blot the stain with a bit of water to remove as much of the lipstick as possible, then treat with a little ammonia, and rinse and wash per care label instructions. Removing finger nail polish is also fairly easy. Simply use an acetone based fingernail polish remover to remove the stain. Using a stainless steel spoon, gently drip small amounts of fingernail polish remover over the stain and let the residue drip into the bowl, working it in with your finger.

There are many different ways to remove stains from cosmetics. Mineral oil is best for remoing make up.it is even cheaper than baby oil. Eye makeup that is very stubborn requires a solvent and removes mascara gently and can easily rinse off. Use sweet almond oil. It works great andis very cheap and good for the skin too. When removeing heavy eye make up to use cheapest petroleum jelly and old washcloth dampened with very warm water to remove heavy eye make up and
use cotton balls dipped in baby oil and then wash face with dove soap also moisturises the face. When removing lip make up always use cold cream to remove lipsticks as this will help to soften and condition lips. Avoid washing off eye makeup with cleanser, as it’s too harsh and drying for this delicate area.

Remove Makeup Tips

1. Start by removing your eye makeup with a cotton ball that’s been moistened with eye makeup remover formula.

2. Put eye makeup remover on a cotton ball to takeoff eye makeup.

3. Don’t use regular makeup remover on your eyes because it might be too harsh.

4. Use cleansing milk with cotton wool to take off surface makeup.

5. Spend at least a minute lathering the facial cleanser on your skin before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

6. Don’t use normal or non-”tear free” shampoos because they will cause stinging.

7. Always apply moisturizer.

Wide-set eyes-Use a darker shade in the inner corner, blending up and out. Concentrate eyeliner and mascara on the inner corner of the eye.

Close-set eyes-Use one color, varying from a light to darker shade. Start with the lightest shade one-third away from the inner corner of your eye, blending darker shades up and out. Use eyeliner on the outer half of your eye.

Deep-set eyes-Use eyeliner on both the upper and lower lids, remembering to smudge and soften the line.

1. Use eye shadows to reflect mood.

2. Apply the lightest shade over the entire eyelid.

3. Apply the medium shade on the lower eyelid.

4. Apply the darkest shade in the outer corner of the eye to create depth.
